Gold markers come from the publicly accessible NMWMap Allagash Google Earth guide and are shown for preliminary trip planning. This is an independently operated source, not a current campsite-availability or navigation service. Verify sites and map positions with Maine AWW. No photographs or campsite descriptions are reproduced.
The 62-mile Churchill-to-Allagash journey
Maine's official mileage chart lists these sections of the waterway. These are published paddling distances, not GPS tracks, campsite recommendations, or fixed daily itineraries.

Camping along the waterway
Camp only at authorized Waterway campsites, marked with triangular signs visible from the water. Maine's guide describes campsite cells with a table, tarp poles, fireplace, and shared outhouse. Treat natural water, follow fire rules, and confirm current conditions with the Waterway staff before departing.
Gold markers display third-party planning waypoints. Some locations may be landmarks rather than authorized campsites. Confirm overnight stops against the official campsite map and with Waterway staff.
Search Allagash campsites
Browse the same source-attributed locations shown as gold markers on the map. Click a result to zoom to it. These are third-party planning waypoints; verify that each is an authorized campsite using Maine's official map.

Maine describes AWW campsites as first-come, first-served with a maximum of 12 campers per campsite. No site availability is implied.
PLAN YOUR EXPEDITION
Build your six-night camp plan
Choose tentative overnight stops from the same live waypoint list used by the map. If the external feed is unavailable, a short fallback list is shown. This is your planning worksheet, not a campsite reservation or suggested safe itinerary. Confirm every stop's location, legal status, river mileage and current conditions using official maps and a Waterway ranger.
No booking is created. Your selections stay in this browser session and are not submitted to Basecamp.
Bring your whole crew together
Create a private crew, invite your paddlers, and collect individual registrations with optional marketing consent.

Plan your entire adventure
Name your crew, sketch your roster, and select meals for all seven days. Save this planning worksheet on your device or copy a summary to share with your paddlers. This is not a reservation or a crew invitation system yet.
Meet your eight paddlers
First names or nicknames only. Do not enter contact details, medical information, or other private data here; this worksheet is stored in this browser.
Choose your seven-day menu
Basecamp provides food. These are sample menu choices for planning, not confirmed offerings. Final options, portions, allergies, and substitutions require Basecamp approval.
Provisioning preview: 168 individual meal servings for eight paddlers across seven days, before snacks, drinks, extra calories, dietary accommodations, and waste allowances.
Local-only preview: Basecamp cannot see this plan, and sharing the summary does not grant editing access. Private invitations, individual contact profiles, consent-based marketing, and shared saved crews will require a protected account and database build.

Load an official campsite map file
Have a KML or GeoJSON file from a trusted mapping source? Load it to display clickable campsite locations directly on the map. The file stays in your browser; Basecamp does not upload or store it. Imported markers are shown in green and are not automatically verified.

KMZ files need to be exported to KML first. Loading a file does not confirm permission to redistribute it; imported data is never published to other visitors.
